We met through Dan's step brother, Jake, in high school. We both had a "crush" on one another & hung out for some time, but nothing more ever happened. Fifteen-ish years later, Nicole noticed Dan was single and sent him a message on Instagram. We made plans to hang out on September 23, 2018 and we haven't stopped since.

It was a Wednesday, our two year anniversary. Both of us had off from work. Dan had an appointment at the DMV early that morning. He left and came back with a bouquet of sunflowers. I thought "how sweet" and was happy he remembered. He asked if I wanted anything from Dunkin, I said no, but he insisted he needed a coffee and said he'd be right back. When he returned with his coffee, he also had another bouquet of flowers, this time red roses, and a card. He handed me the card. It was sweet and somewhat sappy, and at the bottom he wrote "make sure you smell the roses :)". He then handed me the roses and sure enough, he buried the box inside. And then, in typical Dan fashion, he said "so will you?" And of course I said YES!
