Dan began working at Twin Cities Orthopedics in 2018 as a Physical Therapist. On his first day of work he helped an elderly gentleman and was recognized for the Be The Difference award, an acknowledgement for going above-and-beyond his call of service. Mikki was working down the street with the TCO physicians, and she was also on a team working to get more employees interested in the Be The Difference program. To spread the word, she built a poster board, and figured showcasing the most recent winner would make it more enticing! So unbeknownst to him, Dan's picture went up in a break room down the street! Fast forward a few months and Mikki's knees started to hurt when she ran. Having seen the symptoms before in her patients, she knew some physical therapy would get her back into running shape. So she added herself to the cute PT's schedule, whose picture was still on the same board in the break room. After 3 visits, Mikki's knees no longer hurt, she "graduated" from PT, and she still had no idea if Dan was single! As soon as she left his office, she called her friend who called another friend who was sneaky about asking Dan if he thought Mikki was cute. Their friends worked some magic, Dan texted Mikki, and their first date was 2 days later!
All it took was that first date for Mikki and Dan to know this was it! On February 28, 2020, Dan took Mikki back to where they had their first date, and proposed to Mikki's complete surprise in front of friends and loved ones!
