Kirsti used to work here and Dan would visit often during the first summer they dated. The ice cream is homemade and amazing! Plus you can pet the cows while you visit and the sunsets are hard to beat here!
There's mini-golf, a driving range, and batting cages!
We went on our first date here and needless to say the rest is history. There are multiple access points and each hike offers you a great view of the valley from the top.
We enjoy this hike as well and it also offers amazing views of the Pioneer Valley. You can hike or drive to the top. This is the famed hike from Mountain Day during Kirsti's years at Mount Holyoke College.
Just down the street from our house, this restaurant has tasty food, great seasonal cocktails, and music outside during the summer months.
One word...TAQUITOS! They have locations in Amherst, Northampton, and Easthampton.
If Dan could eat chicken wings from Hangar every day, he absolutely would! We recommend the boneless wings and our favorite flavors are Honey Mustard, Honey BBQ, and Sweet Chili...but really, you can't go wrong. They have multiple locations around Western Mass (Amherst, South Hadley, and Westfield).
Dan's Pick: Garlic Parm Fries and the CBR Wrap. Kirsti's Pick: Thai-Dye Burrito with grilled shrimp. There's a cozy bar attached that serves the same food and is a nice local spot.
Want to cool off and relax? Laurel Lake at the Erving State Forest is a great place to go for a swim and hang out on the sandy beach. Kirsti spent many summers during her childhood here with her siblings, cousins, family, and friends. It may be a bit of a drive so we'd suggest you spend the afternoon there. Limited cell-service lets you unplug for a bit, but don't be alarmed if you have to drive back into town before your phone works again.
