Kari and Dan first met for drinks at Dorian’s Through The Record Shop in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood.

Dan and Kari were up in Green Lake for a beautiful summer weekend. While getting ready for a sunset cruise on the boat, Kari mentioned that it was Binkley’s Gotcha Day, and Dan replied, “that’s a coincidence.” Kari, not registering what Dan said, shrugged off his comment, and they left for the lake. Sipping on Rose and Bourbon, the sun was beginning to set over the water as they cruised the lake. Dan asked Kari to check and make sure the front lights were on and working properly. Kari checked the lights, and when she turned back around, Dan was on one knee with a ring. He proposed the big question, and Kari happily said “Yes, of course!!” They popped a bottle of champagne and enjoyed a sunset toast to celebrate their new engagement. Now, June 4th is not only Binkley’s Gotcha Day, but Dan and Kari’s Gotcha Forever Day!
