Semi-Formal: Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. Feel free to wear black!
Two additional notes about the reception. First, when we thought about the reception, our FIRST phone call was to the Hoodoo Soul Band to ask if they would play the wedding. Bring your dancing shoes! Second, as an ode to Erica's Italian Pittsburgh heritage, we will be having a cookie table. A Pittsburgh Cookie Table is a wedding tradition originating from immigrant families in Western Pennsylvania. Under the dual pressures of the closing of coal mines and the onset of the Great Depression, couples couldn't afford expensive cakes—so the Cookie Table tradition began with relatives baking cookies for the new couple. The tradition continues as a symbol of love and the strength of one's community. Local guests and family are encouraged to bring a dozen cookies if you are able—no pressure for out-of-towners.

After the band ends and the Grand Ballroom closes, those who are still kicking are welcome to head across the Statler to Milton's (in the same building). Late-night food will be served.
