We appreciate everyone traveling to our little destination wedding! Scottsbluff may be a small town, but there are lots of unique things to do to fill a few extra days around the festivities!

There are many great places to eat in Scottsbluff and Gering! -Backaracks Steakhouse and Grill - Site of our first date! -Flyover Brewery - Great place for lunch and dinner. Best craft beers, atmosphere, and beer cheese and pretzels in town! -Log Cabin - Great hole in the wall breakfast and lunch place! -Olè or Taco de Oro - Scottsbluff has tons of great Mexican food options, these are two of our favorites! -Wonderful House - The best Chinese food in town is one of our favorites by far! -Scotty's Drive In - A classic quick burger and fries place with excellent shakes and flavored sodas.

Western Nebraska has tons of great golf! Greens fees are very affordable and rarely is a tee time required. Within a 25 minute drive of Scottsbluff there are 5 courses. Our favorites are Monument Shadows or Scenic Knolls. Drive around Lake Minatare and check out the inland lighthouse! Lake Minatare can be a day trip by just parking on the beach and hanging out by the water for a few hours or book a site at the campground and spend your weekend on the water.

Walk or drive to the top of the Scottsbluff National Monument! Access is free and provides a short yet challenging activity with a 1.6 mile long walking trail with a steep incline. There are wagon ruts left over from The Oregon Trail at the base of the bluff. The drive takes you through a tunnel and gives quick access to the short walking paths on top to look in all directions over the area!

Take a morning walk or jog down the two-mile walking path om The Monument Valley Pathway . Park at the YMCA and walk along the North Platte River towards Riverside Park and The Riverside Zoo. This also includes a good walking route through the city ending at the community college on the north side.

Go see the museum, short hiking path, and Chimney Rock which was a major landmark for the Oregon trail!

A small zoo that houses some unique animals like zebras, grizzly bears, chimpanzees and hyenas, as well as some animals that are native to the area like bobcats! You can get to the zoo from the Monument Valley Pathway as well.
