Walk or drive to the top of the Scottsbluff National Monument! Access is free and provides a short yet challenging activity with a 1.6 mile long walking trail with a steep incline. There are wagon ruts left over from The Oregon Trail at the base of the bluff. The drive takes you through a tunnel and gives quick access to the short walking paths on top to look in all directions over the area!
Take a morning walk or jog down the two-mile walking path om The Monument Valley Pathway . Park at the YMCA and walk along the North Platte River towards Riverside Park and The Riverside Zoo. This also includes a good walking route through the city ending at the community college on the north side.
A small zoo that houses some unique animals like zebras, grizzly bears, chimpanzees and hyenas, as well as some animals that are native to the area like bobcats! You can get to the zoo from the Monument Valley Pathway as well.
