Dan and Elizabeth first met during their senior year of college at Rutgers University. She was a nursing student, with a passion for creative writing and all things artistic. He was a civil engineering student, who spent his time pumping iron at the gym and playing basketball with his friends. Serendipitously, they lived across the hall from one other in the coveted Livingston Apartments. The two were introduced when Dan and his roommates knocked on Elizabeth’s door to borrow some Pam. Dan became an engineer in NYC. Elizabeth became a pediatric nurse and took up CrossFit. Their paths crossed in Asbury Park one night and shortly thereafter, Dan and Elizabeth went on their first date. Always prompt, Dan arrived at precisely 8:04pm to pick up Elizabeth and the two got to know each other over Thai food. After dating for a year or so, the happy couple moved in together and adopted a cat, Meeko. They recently bought a house together in Hazlet, NJ and are beyond thrilled for all of the wonderful things the future holds!
Elizabeth thought that she was heading to Rutgers University to spend time with her sister, snap some photos of the beautiful campus, and grab lunch. Unbeknownst to Elizabeth, Dan had elaborately arranged proposal plans with the help of Elizabeth's sister Victoria, his friend John Garis (the best man), and Mr. Garis (equipped with a professional camera). As Elizabeth crossed the Kissing Bridge, Dan was waiting for her on the other side. She was utterly shocked to see him there. Dan explained to her that there is an old Rutgers legend that says if a girl crosses the Kissing Bridge to meet a boy and kisses him, the two will be together forever. With that, he got down on one knee and proposed.
