Dan and Daena met when they both worked at Watercrest Mall. Dan had been checking out a Nixon watch, but then started checking out Daena instead, and hit his head against the glass wall. Daena laughed and laughed, and felt so guilty the next day she went and tried to apologise but ended up laughing some more. They immediately clicked and 6 months later they began dating.

Dan and Daena had wanted to go skydiving since their first year anniversary, but had never got around to it. After Daena's 21st birthday at the beginning of March, Dan tricked her and said he had planned a belated birthday surprise on the 21st of March. After an "amazing race" and reliving all their special moments, Dan surprised Daena with a trip out to Eston to do the skydive! When Daena landed, Dan was waiting for her with a special poem that ended with "will you marry me", and after taking the moment in, Daena said "YES"!
