Electronic Travel Authorization (New UK Law)

Starting January 8, 2025, U.S. citizens traveling to the United Kingdom for short visits—including tourism, business, or family visits—are required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before entry.  Applications can be completed online or via the official UK ETA app, available on both the App Store and Google Play. Each traveler, including children, must submit an individual application. The process involves uploading a photo of your passport, scanning your face (except for children under 9), and answering personal questions. The application fee is approximately $12 ***THERE IS A TEMPORARY EXEMPTION FOR LAYOVER PASSENGERS IN THE UK. SO THIS LAW WILL NOT AFFECT YOU UNLESS YOU PLAN ON EXTENDING YOUR TRIP TO VISIT LONDON***
