For our first date we went all in. After a week of talking on the phone, we decided what better way to get to know each other than taking a drive two hours from LA (IN ONE DIRECTION) to a beautiful little town called Ojai. We headed out at 9 am on April 29, 2023 on what will forever be our last first date. As we approached Ojai the smell of orange blossoms drenched the car. They were absolutely intoxicating. So naturally, we had to pull over and pluck a few oranges from the tree. Spontaneity was the theme for the day! First we stopped at the Ojai Olive Oil company where we nibbled on bread, oil, and balsamic vinegar. We wondered around the property and after some swinging from a tree swing, we found ourselves sitting by the river and taking in nature. The sun was strong and the temperature was climbing so Dana jumped into the river first. Rav asked if he had to as well, to which Dana replied "do whatever you want". And not to be outdone, Rav found his way in as well. He thought she was absolutely crazy. He still does. But that's when he fell in love. Next up we headed to downtown, parked, and just started walking. First we stumbled upon a honey shop and were invited in to do a honey tasting. We got our sugar high and moved on to the next adventure. As we strolled down the street the sounds of a live piano player drew us in to a wine bar where we did our next tasting. We made a short pitstop for lunch and then carried on to our next spot, a beautiful mediation center at the top of a mountain with gorgeous gardens. We strolled and talked for over an hour, had a private meditation, then a group meditation, and finally enjoyed a relaxing sunset on the lawn overlooking the mountains; a special place we returned to on our first year anniversary. It seems the night would end here, but it didn't! We changed into dinner attire and headed to a delicious Italian restaurant back in town. Good fortune favored us through the night and the guests sitting next to us turned out to be winemakers and shared with us one of their bottles. We had great laughs and then began the long two hour drive home. I was dropped at my doorstep by a complete gentleman and we both walked away knowing this was the start of something different. We've been living a whirlwind of a love story ever since...
