Golden is an amazing little mining town (truly feels like you are being transported back to the old west). Also, one of my favorite theatres to perform at (Miners Alley Playhouse) is here. The Grill and Cantina at the Table Mountain Inn is a great place to get some happy hour drinks and enjoy some tasty Mexican fare. I highly recommend stopping at this lovely downtown area very close to our venue and hotel.
Nicknamed “RiNo,” the trendy River North Art District features contemporary art galleries and hip concert venues in revamped industrial buildings. Food halls include Denver Central Market and The Source, a buzzy indoor venue with eclectic products and a bar for small plates and craft beer. Known for its colorful murals, Upper Larimer Street also has cocktail lounges, brewpubs with patios and late-night food trucks.
More than 1,000 businesses fill the red-brick, pedestrian-only thoroughfare, which runs roughly along Pearl Street from 9th Street on the west end to 21st Street on the east end. Most of the things to see and do on Pearl Street are locally owned, bringing with them that special only-in-Boulder character — described as “nestled between the mountains and reality” just a half-hour’s drive from Denver.
For all you vegetarians out there (Marie!) and people who just love amazing food and atmosphere, this is my absolute favorite spot in Denver. Everything on their menu is vegetarian (soul food style) with MANY gluten free and vegan options. I wouldn't pass up a trip here even on wedding weekend!
