We met through a Christian online dating app during the pandemic. We matched and Jason messaged me from there. We quickly realized we were very far away from each other, yet we were open to trying it out. Both of us have not experienced a long distance relationship, since I live in Staten Island, New York and he lives in Ansonia, Connecticut. Our desire is to date with the intention to marry. The early conversations were imperative that we would agree on the essentials of the gospel and share similar desires, such as, children, serving a local church (Newtown Bible Church), and why we desire marriage. We messaged online for a few weeks before meeting for the first time in Brooklyn, New York on January 9, 2021. From that day it went well, we agreed on all the essentials and built a great friendship with each other.

The best birthday gift I received was on this day. An unexpected surprise proposal by my now fiancé topped the day as I turned 21. It was the greatest gift I've received and I was so shocked that a desire for marriage was coming to life. I was more shocked that my parents had beforehand gave Jason a blessing to take my hand in marriage. It was an amazing birthday/surprise proposal party as everyone was there to witness this special once in a lifetime moment for us.
