Unbeknownst to them, it was partially a setup in the works weeks prior to Greg and Shedana meeting that Saturday, the 27th day of August; at a place where you usually would not expect a love story to begin...a fantasy football draft party! Literally that same day, Greg was moving furniture into his new home, scrambling to get things setup only expecting some fantasy football nerds who really could have sat on the floor. Greg knew two newcomers were joining the league but had no idea this ebony queen, Shedana was one of them. Allegedly when Shedana arrived, Greg watched from the upstairs window, Shedana walking to the wrong house! Eventually she made her way over and the evening’s events went on. The first conversation they had with each other was actually about grabbing paper towels and soap water to clean up a drink that Shedana spilled on his rug. Yup, that also was moved in that morning...just in time to have a beverage dumped on it. After the draft concluded, everyone went to a cigar lounge and the two began to talk more. Greg, being the gentleman that he is, walked Shedana to her car and the story almost ended there. A couple days passed and only group chat text messages with fantasy football trash talk kept the two in contact. If you know these two, neither one of them asked about exchanging information on the walk to the car. Not until Shedana broke the ice and asked Greg if he wanted to “socialize more outside the group”, had the two talked. Greg chose the first date, go karts and dinner, leaving the debate open to who actually made the first move?! According to Shedana it is not up for debate since she asked Greg out on the date. Nonetheless, Shedana and Greg from that point on began a friendship and bond learning that they had many things in common, from sports to food and most importantly, both being big on family.

Shedana fell in love with Greg’s sense of humor, his intelligence, how he makes her feel like the happiest person alive, and how he supports her. She loves how compassionate, caring, and empathetic he is with people. And most importantly, how he makes her feel like a priority in his life loving her unconditionally, quirks and all. Greg fell in love with Shedana’s generosity, drive to always wanting more in life and sense of humor. He always felt like he could be himself from day one. He loves how they can work together and share the same values on how they will grow as a family. Admitting he can be difficult at times, Greg loves Shedana’s patience with him! On March 6, 2020 Greg proposed to Shedana at their home and as cliché as it sounds the rest is history. On September 25, 2021 they will become husband and wife before God, family, and friends.
