Our Story
How We Met

The Bride and Groom first met in August of 2019 at work—though romance was not exactly in the forecast. Initially, they both worked for the same animal hospital organization, but at different locations. When one office closed, Garrett was transferred to South Shore Animal Hospital, where he was introduced to Dana as the newest member of the team. First impressions weren’t exactly love at first sight—Dana was inseparable from her best friend and coworker, Muge, and the two of them didn’t seem especially interested in expanding their circle. By 2021, things began to feel different. Dana was working as a veterinary technician, and Garrett was at the front desk as a client services representative. Their roles gave them some distance, but they worked well together—and slowly, that space began to shrink. Their combined work ethics led Dana to spend more time in the evenings, keeping Garrett company while he counted the cash drawer and filled out the welcome board for the next morning. Around the same time, Garrett’s favorite band, Streetlight Manifesto, began coincidentally playing in the treatment area whenever he walked back there. They genuinely enjoyed each other’s company, and before long, Dana made the first move. Once they admitted they liked each other, their first date was simple and sweet—coffee and desserts at a little café down the block called Something Sweet. From there, everything just kept growing.
The Early Days

In the early days, the Bride and Groom saw each other often because they worked together. Garrett would drive Dana home after shifts, and they always made time for each other on weekends. When Garrett eventually changed careers and moved into IT, something unexpected happened—they grew even closer. Without work bringing them together, every moment became intentional. Friday night dinners after work turned into a tradition. Weekends were spent hiking with Minnie, exploring the town, and trying new things. Monday mornings meant separating for work before spending the week texting about what they'd do together next. They also discovered a shared love for weekend driving trips, especially to a quiet cabin in upstate New York that quickly became one of their favorite places. On one memorable trip, they were snowed in during a blizzard—and instead of panicking, they leaned into it. Board games, TV, watching the snow fall, and being happily stuck together made it clear that they were exactly where they were meant to be.
The Big Step

In 2023, the Bride and Groom took another big step and moved in together. Shortly after the move, they opened their door and their hearts and welcomed home the former hospital cat, Tosey—who has been thriving ever since and clearly enjoying her upgrade to permanent house cat. What makes them work so well is their balance: Dana’s determination and drive paired with Garrett’s calm, steady presence. Together, they complement each other in the best way. In June of last year, Garrett proposed—and while Dana doesn’t love being the center of attention, the moment was still made incredibly special. With the help of family and close friends, a “fake” double-date picnic was planned in a scenic park. Dana’s best friend convinced her it was just lunch and photos, so everyone dressed nicely—and Dana even got her nails done. As they walked along a winding path, they suddenly found themselves stepping onto a mysterious pink carpet. At the end they were greeted by some of the most important people in their lives, Dana’s favorite Taylor Swift song playing, and a moment neither of them will ever forget. Dana said yes—and now they're so excited to celebrate the next chapter of their lives together.
