WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!!!

It all started back in the golden days at Kohl's. Anyone that knows Garrett, knows that he is a very social person and will ask you a million questions to get to know you. Well at the time when we first met, we were both dating other people, so we weren't of each others interest. Time went on, and we had both become single and working on the same shifts together. We would do some small talk and started becoming friends. Back in late summer of July of 2012, I decided to take a higher position within Kohl's, which required me to move out of town. Two weeks after I was gone, guess who became even more interested in me?! You guessed it, Garrett! After a couple of months of talking, he asked me to be his girlfriend and we officially started dating September 13, 2012. We went the first 8 months of our relationship doing long distance and visiting back and forth and then we made the decision that we wanted to move in together, so I put in a transfer to come back home, and May of 2013, we moved into our first apartment together. We lived there a total of 6 months before we moved out of our apartment and into our first home together in November of 2013. We both have recently, within the last year, have gotten new jobs. We worked opposite retail hours our whole relationship, so now, it's been amazing to have a normal schedule and to be able to enjoy each others company. Its been the best 6 1/2 years of being together, and the best 5 1/2 years of living together. We have our lil pup Scooter, who Garrett ended up finding and rescuing and he's been the best addition to our little family going on 5 years now. And we recently got gifted with 2 baby fainting goats, Keith and Toby. We couldn't imagine doing life with anyone else!!

Every summer, for the past few years, we make it out to the Carolina Beach Music Festival down at Carolina Beach, NC. That weekend was the same as it normally would have been, we got down there that Friday afternoon, all of our other friends began arriving and we all had a calm and chill night. Shortly before we had all went to bed that night, Garrett had mentioned to me that he had entered us into winning a free t-shirt for the concert tomorrow. I was like oh awesome, how are they going to contact us if we win?! Did you give them our numbers or emails or anything?! He tells me that they will just call our names out if we end up winning. Ok then! So we started off the next morning getting everything together and headed to the beach. After the concert gets going, we always gather everyone together and go shag to a couple songs up front, so we did that and after a couple of songs the singer of the band comes over the mic and asks if everyone is having a good time, we all cheer. Then he had asked if a Garrett Knott was there. We all start cheering again, along with myself, because I'm thinking he won this free t-shirt. So then he tells him to come up on the stage and Garrett tells me to go up there with him, and I'm like no way, I didn't win the shirt! All of our friends grab my phone and drink from me, and now i'm walking up to the stage with Garrett behind me. We get up there and the guy asks us where we are from and how long we've been coming to the concert, then hands Garrett the mic and says, I'm going to hand you the mic because I think you have something you want to say. I'm thinking to myself, why does he need to say thank you for winning a free shirt? So then Garrett starts introducing himself, who I am, how long we've been dating, then he gets down on one knee and says those magic words "I have something really important I need to ask you, Dana Conklin, will you marry me?!" MY JAW LITERALLY DROPPED TO THE FLOOR!! It was literally the best day and weekend!!!
