Dana: Our date got off to a bad start when we were texting before hand. I had asked Eric what color his eyes were, and he responded with "Blue, I already told you this" well, he had not and so I responded "Not me, must have been the other girls you're talking to". It was my poor attempt at humor and my way of flirting but Eric was offended. lol When we got to the restaurant Eric realized he forgot his wallet... Usually I don't mind paying but when a guy shows up to the first date without a wallet its usually because the guy doesn't have a job or money. Thankfully he had a credit card in his car which was a relief to both of us. We began giving our drink orders when Eric decided that flirting with the waitress would be a good idea. I thought it was weird that this big guy was so interested in a fruity cocktail and thought this was his way of telling me that he's gay. I sipped my Coors light while they flirted and thought "this is fun". Eric excused himself and went to the bathroom so I took advantage of his absence and texted Dana that I didn't think this would work out lol. I decided to give him a pass for his transgressions because he was hot and I gave the nightmarish evening another chance. We went for drinks over at Element where we both eased up. We talked and laughed about everything and nothing. The bar was packed with people but some how it felt as though it was just the two of us. Eric went to choose a song from the juke box when he had stepped on a shot glass. He was fine physically but he was standing suspisciously close to me. He bent down and kissed me which was an amazing kiss but all I could think was "YAY he's not gay!" There would definitely be another date but his choice in drink and skin tight shirts would have to change. Eric: On the way to pick up Dana for our first date I thought I was being catfished. I couldn't understand how a girl this beautiful was single. Ten minutes into our first date and it became abundantly clear why she was single. She said she didn't know I had blue eyes and continued berating me on the topic saying I must have told another girl. Then, after politely asking the waitress about a specific drink Dana rolled her eyes and asked if she could have a beer. Her face insinuated that I was either high maintenance or obnoxious. Yeah, I understand why you're single, the faces aren't necessary. After dinner Dana asked if I wanted to go to a nearby bar. This confused me because her mood was far from pleasant for the first part of the date, but I figured "this obviously can't get any worse, why not." Danas mood changed as well as mine. We sat at the bar, legs locked with one another, flirting and laughing the hours away. I went to use the bathroom and Dana stared up at me begging for a kiss.. Reluctantly, I obliged. On my way home after our date I realized that I wasn't catfished at all and that there was a reason Dana was single and it wasn't because of her attitude. It was simply because everyone before me had only stayed for the first part of the date.
