Fall 2015, El Rio bar on a Friday after school was full of San Francisco teachers. Dana, with a little liquid courage to help, beelined up to Debbie and said, "you look familiar, do I know you?" Somehow that pick up line worked. However, the timing wasn't right and Debbie patiently stuck around for another 6 months. However, she started to teach a PE class with Dana once a week. This gave Debbie the opportunity to sneak awkwardly long hugs and start to win her over. Finally ready, Dana caved and they started officially dating in January 2016. But, Dana was already set to move to Los Angeles to attend CSUN the following year. Not wanting to give up on love, the two were long distance for a year, taking turns visiting each other. Debbie made a leap of faith and moved to LA in 2017. On Dana's birthday camping weekend, May 2018, sitting on top of the mountain watching the sunset, Debbie proposed! They created a home together in August 2018. The past 4 years have been an incredible journey. Backpacking, camping, road trips, traveling the world, Grad school, new jobs, new apartments, new friends, birthdays, holidays, new bars and new bands, tears, and laughter.
