Things To Do

Welcome to Virginia Beach! Explore points of interest and local favorites to grab a bite to eat for lunch, dinner and, of course, ice cream.

First Landing State Park

2500 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23451
, (757) 412-2300

The park is where English colonists first landed in 1607. As Virginia's most-visited state park, it's an oasis within urban Virginia Beach. The park has 20 miles of trails and 1.5 miles of sandy Chesapeake Bay beach frontage. First Landing offers many recreational and educational activities and has many unusual habitats including bald cypress swamps, lagoons and maritime forest, as well as rare plants and wildlife. Open daily from dawn to dusk.

Hot Tuna

2817 Shore Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23451

One of our favorite date night spots! The food is 5-star, but the dress code is casual. Eastern Shore seafood and produce from local farms and a menu that runs the gamut, from the freshest Ahi tuna to gourmet gouda burgers. Try a hand-muddled mojitos, homemade sangria and organic margaritas. Also, conveniently located in the same lot as Blue Cow Ice Cream - another must try!

Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center

717 General Booth Boulevard, Virginia Beach, VA 23451
, (757) 385-3474

Come explore over 800,000 gallons of one of the best aquariums and animal habitats in the country at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center!

BoBo's Fine Chicken

Their chicken is more than fine! BoBo’s Fine Chicken Restaurant takes you back with the traditional food of Tidewater, Virginia—the birthplace of Southern cuisine. At BoBo’s, you can find some of the food that people rarely take the time to make anymore. Fried Chicken. Seasonal Vegetables. Scratch-made biscuits. Custard Ice Cream. Seasonal, locally sourced ingredients are the backbone of their menu. It’s fresh, homemade food that’s fast. Drive on thru or stop in.

Mount Trashmore Park

Mount Trashmore Park Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23452

Yes, you read that right. World-renowned Mount Trashmore Park is the sister park to Haginodai Park in Japan and encompasses 165 acres, two man-made mountains, two lakes, two playgrounds, a skate park and vert ramp, and multi-use paths. In the late 60's early 70's, the city converted a 640,000-ton pile of garbage into the nation's first landfill park. An environmental wonder, Mount Trashmore Park also features many other eco-friendly amenities. The main mountain, Mount Trashmore, now 60 feet in height and 800 feet long, was created by compacting layers of solid waste and clean soil.

Blue Cow Ice Cream Co.

2817 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23451
, (757) 937-6698

Right next door to one of our favorite date night restaurants (Hot Tuna), Blue Cow is a must visit. Honestly, it's just damn good ice cream!

Serving up a fun, modern take on traditional Hawaiian food with influences on Asian and Southern cuisine. Great for breakfast, lunch, dinner or, you guessed it, snacks. It always hits the spot!
