The park is where English colonists first landed in 1607. As Virginia's most-visited state park, it's an oasis within urban Virginia Beach. The park has 20 miles of trails and 1.5 miles of sandy Chesapeake Bay beach frontage. First Landing offers many recreational and educational activities and has many unusual habitats including bald cypress swamps, lagoons and maritime forest, as well as rare plants and wildlife. Open daily from dawn to dusk.

USS Wisconsin (BB-64) is an Iowa-class battleship and the second ship of the United States Navy to be named in honor of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. She was built at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and launched on 7 December 1943 (the second anniversary of the Pearl Harbor raid). World-renowned Mount Trashmore Park is the sister park to Haginodai Park in Japan and encompasses 165 acres, two man-made mountains, two lakes, two playgrounds, a skate park and vert ramp, and multi-use paths. In the late 60's early 70's, the city converted a 640,000-ton pile of garbage into the nation's first landfill park. An environmental wonder, Mount Trashmore Park also features many other eco-friendly amenities. The main mountain, Mount Trashmore, now 60 feet in height and 800 feet long, was created by compacting layers of solid waste and clean soil.
