The First Date

a match meant to be

The Brides Side of The Story: I decided to try out a few dating apps. I loved going out downtown with my girlfriends, but found it difficult to find a great catch. After a few first date flops from Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge, I thought I would give Match.com a try. Adam and I matched right away. I thought his profile looked pretty "normal" and I noticed we had some things in common (spending time outdoors, being active, and bourbon). We immediately connected about our love of Old Fashioneds, and he asked me out on a date (for an Old Fashioned). We met at Butchers Union in Downtown GR. We were both a bit nervous, but had great conversation about hobbies, friends, family, travel, work--typical first date convo. After a few drinks, we decided to call it a night. Adam walked me to my car and hugged me goodnight (what a gentleman). He later texted me to set up a second date and pulled out all the stops. We met for drinks, went to a comedy show, sat on a patio outside for more drinks, and then danced the night away. He may have even stole a first kiss on the sidewalk outside of Sidebar. Adam continued to be persistent, and we made many memories during the summer of 2019... and eventually stole my heart. ~Dana
