Rewind to early 2019. Dan and Marina worked together at Schoology, an education software company based in Manhattan. When Dan joined the company, Marina was in and out of the office in between flights each week. They had the opportunity to spend time together during Schoology’s Annual Kickoff in January 2019. They spent their first date talking for hours about everything at a speakeasy, Angel's Share, in the East Village. Their second date was spent choking on laughter at Sebastian Maniscalco’s live comedy performance at Madison Square Garden. Dan made Marina feel like she had a home while she was so often on the road and living out of a suitcase. This love story began the moment they connected over karaoke in a crowded midtown bar surrounded by coworkers and friends. It goes on forever, as it always felt like it was meant to be.

On a beautiful Friday afternoon, Dan asked Marina to go for a drive after work; they were spending time with Dan’s family in Southampton. Dan took Marina down to a little beach near his old high school. It was perfect, private, and so peaceful. Anyone who knows Marina knows how much she loves the beach. As the sun was setting, Dan took Marina down to the water. Soon after, Dan was down on one knee, sharing beautiful words and there they were, “Will you marry me?”. It’s obvious what followed - an absolute “yes!”. The couple celebrated with (a bit too much) champagne, friends, and family, surrounded by love.
