Damond and I met while fishing with some friends in Sibley Park Mankato, MN. We were fishing for catfish in the river. If you know much about fishing, you know that river fishing is way different than lake fishing! Well, it was clearly my first time river fishing and I had no idea what I was doing. Our beautiful story began when Damond walked over and asked if I'd ever been river fishing before, and if I needed help. Me, of course, trying to play if off, responded with "Thanks for offering, but I know I'm doing." About 15 minutes later Damond reeled in a big one! This is when Damond realized I really had no idea what I was doing. He ended up teaching me how to river fish. Afterwards, he was going back to the house to clean and cook his fish. When we were getting ready to go, Damond said "Well, you probably don't want to see me clean a fish...." Which is when I responded with "I don't mind. I'll come with." He was shocked that I wanted to help clean a fish, and that's when he knew I was going to be the one!

After a little over a month of hanging out, Damond took me to his Mom's house for a Cinco De Mayo dinner. Afterwards, we went back to his house. As we were standing on the porch and I was about to say goodbye, Damond asked me to be his girlfriend!

Since we had to work on my birthday, we were celebrating today instead. It was a very special day. We had a couple friends come to celebrate with us. Us girls got all dressed up, got our nails, hair, and make up done. We all went out for dinner at Torey's in Owatonna, MN. I could tell something was up and that Damond was nervous, but I had no idea why. After dinner we started walking down to Reggie's. Damond stopped me, held my hands and said "So, you know the last year and a half has been amazing and I love you" My eyes got wide realizing what was about to happen!... I relplied "yes... I love you too" And then Damond let go of my hands and started walking away... At this point I was so confused and thought "Wait. What the heck just happened!?" We all walked down to Reggie's for drinks. After I placed my order, I turned around and Damond was standing right there. He got down on one knee and proposed!!!!!
