We're getting married!

Though we had no idea, God had put us together from the very beginning. We were both raised in the same hometown, to two sets of loving parents who raised us with similar morals and values. Attending the same highschool, we were in similar extracurricular activities like track, the music department, and the JROTC program (I know, lame right?). Though the two of us knew of each other, we didn’t know just how well we would become acquainted. Fast forward several years, and both of us found ourselves serving our country as Marines, though in different capacities. We even were in the same location for a short period of time, while Damon attended Logistics Officers Course (though we didn’t know it). Our paths didn’t cross again until Mikaela moved back home, and got out of the Marine Corps . Shortly after, we reconnected and began discovering just how compatible we were. Taking a risk, we started a long distance relationship, visiting each other whenever possible and embarking on adventures together! Our relationship was predicated on communication, and compromise, which we feel is a cornerstone for our future. On April 13th, 2023, Damon decided it was time to put a ring on it. Secretly planning with Mikaela’s close friend Lauren, they devised a plan that was fool proof, until it wasn’t. We were set to “take anniversary pictures” for our one year dating anniversary. But instead, Damon had plans to turn it into an engagement photo shoot. Again, the plan was fool proof. Mikaela, as intelligent as she is, had cracked the code (I.E her dad accidentally let loose that Damon was coming over to have “the talk”). When Damon got down on one knee, and Mikaela turned around, we both could barely contain our excitement. The second Mikaela turned around, she ran to Damon, screaming “I knew it!!!”. It truly was an amazing and unforgettable moment for the both of us. Since then, we have been planning our wedding, and our hopes are that we can share with each and every one of you a bit of that happiness. We cannot wait for our special day, to share it with such amazing family and friends, and to embark on this journey as a family, husband and wife.
