Our love story begins in the most unexpected of places—a pyramid in the middle of the desert at Burning Man, where we greeted the sunrise on the very day we met. The fact that we lived on different sides of the world, with Daria in New York and Damon in New Zealand, did not deter us. The saying holds true that those who are meant to be together will always find a way. However, six months after our magical meeting, the world was swept into the turmoil of COVID-19, testing our bond in ways we could have never imagined. The challenge began when Daria lost her passport right before the pandemic escalated, preventing her from returning to New Zealand with Damon. Both passport agencies and the New Zealand border shut down, leaving us separated for an unknown period. Despite applying four times for entry into New Zealand and facing continuous rejections, our spirits remained unbroken. We decided to meet in Tahiti. However, fate would test us further, and after Daria arrived, Damon’s flights were repeatedly cancelled. In total, we were apart for seven long months—a duration few couples could endure. But it was during these tumultuous times that our commitment deepened and our communication never faltered, ultimately strengthening our relationship. This period not only tested but truly fortified our bond, proving that not even the greatest challenges could tear us apart, but rather, they brought us closer. After love prevailed, and Damon and Daria were together again, Damon asked Daria to marry him on the picturesque Waiheke Island, surrounded by natural beauty and the promise of a lifetime together. Since then, we have travelled the world, supported each other in our businesses, and cherished the profound depth of our relationship. We chose Bali for our wedding—a locale that captures the essence of our romance with its breathtaking beauty and tranquil ambiance. The ceremony will take place at the exquisite Hotel Karma Kandara, where we aim to create a day that mirrors our love and lifelong commitment to each other. We are thrilled to soon be celebrating this love with our dearest friends and family, sharing vows that symbolise not just our past and present but a hopeful, radiant future. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your love and support. Your presence at our wedding means everything to us, and we eagerly anticipate sharing this magical day with each of you.
