In the midst of COVID-19, Paige needed to get out of the house so she grabbed her friend and went to a local Chicago restaurant that had outdoor service. Two or three martinis in, she saw this tall handsome man walk in and sit down at a table with a bunch of other guys. Not in typical Paige fashion, she asked the waiter for a piece of paper and wrote a note on it that read: "I saw you walk in and thought you're really handsome. Shit's weird with COVID, so if you aren't attached and would like to get a drink, a coffee or go on a walk, let me know (and she put her phone number down). And, since you have no idea what I look like, here's my instagram." She gave the note to the waiter and said "Give this to the tall, dark and handsome man with the ugly hat on over there 5 minutes after I have left the table." Now, at this time Paige is walking back to her apartment and is thinking 'OMG I never do anything like that, but what the heck,' and went home to pack her bag as she was headed back to Philly for a few weeks. Damon on the other hand at this time thinks he is being catfished or someone is playing a game with him. He was out having some drinks with old colleagues of his and one of his friends gave him the note and said "Hey this hot lady is interested in you." Damon looked at him, read the note and didn't believe him - he really thought his friend was playing a joke on him. So, he went to check Paige's instagram that was on the note and thought 'Oh wow, she looks cool!" LOL. A couple hours later Damon gave Paige a call and Facetime'd her (because he obviously wanted to make sure she was real, right?!) Damon invited her out that night to get a drink, but she declined. She was playing hard-to-get. Two weeks later they went on their first date July 1, 2020. Ace (Paige's mini-labradoodle) fell in love with Damon pretty fast and told her mommy that he's the one. Fast forward to March 2021 - they picked up from Chicago and moved to Hoboken, NJ. Safe to say it was the best move they have ever made. Oh, and Ace loves it here too. Everyone here calls him "The Mayor of Hoboken." :)
