A Mehndi party is another prewedding celebration when the bride has the red-orange mehndi "stain" applied to her palms, back of hands, and feet. Mehndi, also known are henna, is a dye made from the henna plant. Typically held the day before the wedding, the event often has a lounge feel, with colorful pillows. The Pithi/Haldi ceremony is when a homemade paste is applied to the bride and the groom’s body before their wedding to purify them.
