How We Met

A Love Across The Ocean

We actually met on an LDS online dating app called Mutual. We both had no inclinations to be on an online dating app (An app which we were both encouraged to sign up for from friends and family. ) While looking at the profiles, I came across Damian's profile, I saw his pictures on his profile and swiped up because I thought he looked handsome in a suit. He later messaged me saying how I looked cute in one of my pictures. Over the course of 2yrs, with a 16 hour time difference, we would schedule times to call, Skype and message each other which would be more than 2 hrs our calls-so grateful for technology! Damian is my biggest supporter, my anchor, my very best friend, our love has flourished throughout and will continue to flourish for years to come into Eternity. People often say the cliche saying, that they are super lucky to have found someone, but I feel very blessed to have found him, he has taught me a lot about what Love truly symbolizes. And can you guess what our very first date was? A Utah Jazz NBA game and can you believe what team Utah was playing against? Australia Adelaide, 36rs- I know, what a coincidence!

The Proposal

A Love Across The Ocean

The Proposal is actually a FUNNY story because Damian kept telling me he was planning to do it in the later months, so it came unexpected and was a surprise. He actually was telling me that he wanted to propose to me down at Coffs Harbour, Australia and stating in his own words, "I want to do it while we are at Coffs Harbour attending a Butterfly Sanctuary, I want to do it there with all the butterflies around." I was not impressed at first because he was telling me the location of the proposal. 2nd, I was thinking to myself, "A butterfly sanctuary where it's super busy with people". In the end, he had been joking the whole entire time that he wanted to do it at that location. He actually made the perfect proposal for me, when it was a casual day at Cabarita Beach, Australia. Just us taking a walk while I was chatting to Damian about the facts of different temples in Utah with my Guided Tour Utah Temples Passport I had in my hand. We then walk up to this candlelit cute walkway, I at first thought it was a date he had arranged for us when I saw a picnic basket and a little table with all kinds of yummy fruits, all you can eat bruschetta with a chocolate heart when I pulled it up from the table, there underneath with the ring and that is when he got on one knee and proposed. It was just us -intimate and small-enjoying our moment.
