How do I get to the Olde Homestead?

Answer

From Route 33E exit at Laurelville 180 and turn right. You will turn left on Pleasant Valley (second street on the left). Continue approximately 2 miles and turn left on Cook Road. Continue on Cook Road for about one mile and it will become Rhoads Road. There will be a sign on the right when the road changes to Rhoads. The Olde Homestead will be on your left, and there will be a sign at the foot of the drive. Follow the drive back until it dead ends and the cabin will be on your left. Parking will be to the right of the cabin as you pull up the drive.

Will there be food?

Answer

We are having drinks with light hors d’oeuvres after the ceremony with dinner following. We will be having a delicious buffet dinner by Chef J.M. Matos, and of course cake for dessert. Guests staying in the cabins have access to full kitchens with their own stoves, refrigerators, and microwaves. You are more than welcome to bring your own food to cook for Saturday breakfast or lunch. There will not be any food provided outside of the rehearsal and wedding dinners.

What about beverages?

Answer

We will have a selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages on hand. Non-alcoholic choices are water, lemonade, or ice tea. Alcoholic beverages will include a selection of wine, beer, whisky, vodka, and gin. If you have a drink preference, please feel free to bring it with you to the wedding. The more the merrier!

Is the ceremony outside?

Answer

Yes, we are planning to have the ceremony, and some activities outside, weather permitting. Be sure to bring a jacket in case the weather is chilly later that evening. If there is inclement weather, we will move everything indoors. Either way, we will be at The Olde Homestead!

What should I do Friday night?

Answer

If you are in the wedding party, rehearsal will be at 5pm at The Olde Homestead with dinner to follow thereafter. For all others, come and enjoy the beautiful woods, explore Old Man’s Cave, golf, visit a museum or relax in the hot tub at your cabin.
