Both hailing from Seattle's Central District, their paths first crossed as children, playing together on the CD Panthers Football team and attending Coleman Elementary School. Despite sharing mutual friends and spaces, it wasn’t until 2014 that their true connection sparked when Damarria boldly slid into Shelton’s DMs teasing that his team was weak... and the rest, as they say, is history.

The sparks flew even though they were rivals. Shelton attended Washington State University, studying Sports Management, while Damarria pursued a Pre-Nursing degree at the University of Washington. Their schools’ rivalry meant they would face off every year during the Apple Cup, but through it all, their undeniable chemistry grew stronger. It was a love that defied competition and proved that sometimes, the most beautiful things are born in the most unexpected places. What started as friendly banter over college football soon blossomed into something deeper—something that neither of them could have imagined would last a lifetime.

Over the years, Shelton and Damarria have created a tapestry of memories that only strengthened their bond. From cheering for the Mariners at baseball games, making family memories at Great Wolf Lodge, and inner tubing at Snoqualmie Pass, they have shared laughter and love through every adventure. For seven years, Shelton and Damarria explored Seattle through the eyes of their children- Macaria, Amara, King, and Trayon. Together, they became tourists in their own city, visiting every zoo, museum, amusement park, and family event they could find. Their family adventures were filled with love, laughter, and memories that would last a lifetime. In 2018, the family grew with the arrival of Sir Legend-a joyful and unexpected blessing who quickly became everyone's favorite dinosaur. In 2022, they welcomed Soleil, their rainbow baby, the bright star who filled their lives with light and joy. As their family expanded, so did their love and commitment to each other. From moving in together to raising children, to navigating career changes and personal growth, Shelton and Damarria have been each other’s biggest supporters-always hyping each other up and pushing one another to grow, both individually and as a couple.

In June of 2023, after ten years of love, adventures, and growth, Shelton and Damarria made the decision to take their journey to the next level. They got engaged, taking the next step to solidify a future that’s been in the making since the first pass was thrown... They have found in each other more than just a partner. They have found a best friend, a confidant, and a partner in every sense of the word. Together, they share values, dreams, and a love that only grows deeper with each day.
