The Bruce Museum is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, highlighting art, science, and natural history in more than a dozen changing exhibitions annually.
For those looking to sea some things (ha! ha!)
We know how important golf is to those who golf.... Stamford municipal golf course is open to the public if you want to travel with your clubs. They also have a driving range should you just want to do some practicing. For non residence it is ~$68 to walk 18 holes and ~$88 with a cart.
Another option, up the road a bit more, is Pound Ridge and that is ~$265 for 18 holes before 1pm.
We are about an hour by train to Grand Central Station in NYC. If you'd like to head on in and see the sights, it is easy to do. There are many train stops along the line starting in Norwalk and headed all the way down the coast, so wherever you're staying it is easy to hop on. Check the New Haven line on Metro-North for times and stations.
Generally, this is just a great place to wander around pop in and out of stores and grab something to eat. There is street metered parking and also parking lots behind store fronts. If you've heard about The Ave - this is the place. And if you do happen to be there, we recommend you go to Raphael's Bakery 146 Mason St, Greenwich, CT 06830. It's delish!
For the outdoor hiker/walking crowd, Mianus is a great park. You'll come across lots of dogs, mountain bikers, fly fisherman, and families with young kids. The trails are not too strenuous and do not have much incline, but as has been pointed out by many, hikers are liars and cannot be trusted when it comes to hike difficultly so trust us as much as you'd like.
Stunning grounds and large manicured paths. This park is almost all stroller accessible and is for those who are looking to get out and stretch their legs but not be in the woods.
Easy to walk park in Darien. Wooded area, but very flat in a residential neighborhood.
A beautiful place to see. The architecture is just gorgeous and the atmosphere is so peaceful.
Advance reservations are highly recommended as tours often sell out. The address above is to the parking lot where you can park and then head over to the Visitor Center. All tours leave from the Visitor Center + Design Store at 199 Elm Street, New Canaan CT, 06840 and then shuttled to The Glass House.
For anyone who wants to get a blowout, Ingrid has been going here for years! Robson and Valentino are absolute dolls, but really the entire team is wonderful. There are also plenty of other options in Stamford, Darien, Norwalk, or Greenwich.
Should any of our guests want to get a last minute mani/pedi .... This is just one of many salons in the general area.
A charming cafe - it can be quite busy on a Saturday morning but the Pao de Queijos are worth the wait. With nice weather (fingers crossed) you can sit outside and take in Ingrid's hometown. Loads of cute shops (if you're into needlepoint The Village Ewe is 10/10) and other restaurants/cafe's on Sound Beach Ave. Pick any of them.
Very charming place for a breakfast / brunchy situation. Rowayton in general is a very coastal town and cute to walk through with a cup of coffee. There are popular (and somewhat expensive) places to have a lobster rolls if that tickles your taste buds.
For those staying in Norwalk, this guy is very tasty.
Garden Catering is a childhood staple for Ingrid. Old Greenwich's store front was the first, but they have stores all over the area now. If you're looking for fried chicken, french fries, or potato cones (drool worthy) in a bag with special secret seasoning this is the place.
If you wanted to try New Haven style pizza, here is your chance. This location is an offshoot of the original New Haven location and it lives up to the hype.
A tiny Italian restaurant - seats are close together and the portions are generous!
Easy and kind of a chain, but Ingrid can't get enough of the crispy pork bells tacos, and Daly loves the baja fish with a margarita.
Daly's all time favorite place - make sure to mention Pink Pony Club to Maria! Live music on Friday and Saturday night!
