Our Story

Some people meet by chance. We met by slipping, sliding, and literally busting it at a middle-school skating rink - though we didn't know then that life had already started weaving us together. We officially "met" freshman year in algebra, two awkward teenagers who had no idea they were sitting next to their future spouse. Our real beginning happened on my birthday at the trampoline park. My sister brought me, and by pure coincidence, Dalton showed up with our mutual friend, Anthony. One minute we were all jumping around, playing dodgeball, running the ninja course, and slinging icees at each other like feral children... and the next minute, something just clicked. Dalton and I talked the whole night, laughed nonstop, and somewhere in between, a spark lit. My sister swore he had a crush on me. I denied it, convinced he was way out of my league. Meanwhile, Dalton was asking Anthony for my Snapchat. From there, everything unfolded in that sweet, teenage, butterflies-in-your-stomach way. We went back to the trampoline park. We messaged constantly. We talked in the halls, in class, on FaceTime. And on April 24, 2019, after a month and a half of getting to know each other, Dalton asked me to be his girlfriend. We grew up together - literally. We went to every school dance, every football game, every band competition. We walked the halls side by side, sat together at lunch, and even ended up working at the same Walmart (me as a cashier, him as a cart pusher). Our first "date" was at CICI's, where I was so shy I'd turn away every time I took a bite of pizza. Dalton never let me live that down. As the years passed, our relationships became defined by two things: humor and growth. We learned each other, supported each other, and watched each other become better, stronger versions of ourselves. We graduated together, took our senior trip together, and moved in together September of 2022. We built a life, and built a love that feels steady, joyful, and meant to be. And then came the proposal - perfectly chaotic, perfectly us. Dalton had picked up the ring two weeks earlier and had originally planned to propose on my 21st birthday. But because I was suspicious (and because he loves to keep me on my toes), he changed the plan. After a peaceful picnic that didn't end in a proposal, I let my hopes settle. I was tired, a little hungover, and completely unaware of what was waiting at home. While we were out, my best friend and sister-in-law were secretly decorating our apartment. When we walked in, I saw gold balloons spelling out "MARRY ME." I instantly burst into tears. Dalton got down on one knee, and everything in the world felt still and right. Saying yes was the easiest thing I've ever done. Now here we are - years later, older, wiser, still laughing, still growing, and still choosing each other every single day. From algebra class to adulthood, from trampoline parks to forever... this is our story, and we're so grateful you're here to be part of the next chapter.
