Dalton and I had known who each other were for a while but we had never talked before this day. I had the biggest crush on him and always saw him out of the bars but I was waiting for him to talk to me first! One night I had decided to go out for a couple drinks at the Broken Oar because one of my friends from College was in town and I decided to go out. Little did I know that Dalton also was invited by Jaden Wentz to go out that night as well. It was not until the very end of the night did Dalton come up and talk to me. He mentioned that he would be out on the river tomorrow and I said I would be as well because I had my jet ski. We planned to meet up and the rest is history!
The day Dalton proposed we had been wanting to get out of the house for a while. I was 8 months pregnant with Henzley and I was quite miserable! Dalton told me that we were going to go for a drive and then go have supper! I did not suspect it at all! Going on drives has always been of my favorite things to do and exploring is one of Dalton's. So we went and explored a little bit and he showed me some cool spots by the river that I hadn't been before. Then we started heading up to Double Ditch, a place I always went to on my drives to clear my head and look at the river. It is a very special place for me. We were looking out at the river, the sun was setting, and when I turned around Dalton was down on one knee holding a beautiful ring! As you know Dalton is a man of few words and was quite nervous but no words were needed I knew what he was asking and of course I said, "yes!" Now when I go to my favorite spot I get to re-live that amazing special moment every time! We did not announce it until after we had the ring sized and our beautiful little girl was born! I could not have asked for a better future husband and father to our daughter.
