Maid of Honor
Kacey and I (Dessirae) met at Colorado State University. The start of our friendship is pretty crazy... that's more of an in-person story... Kacey very quickly became one of the most important people in my life. She took on the challenge of learning about my very complicated (and loving) family, my crazy impulsive decisions, my desire for adventures, my very expensive love for concerts, and so much more. There are so many things I could say about Kacey, but you'd be reading for 10 years. She has stuck by my side through everything and never once complained (except maybe a few times about me moving far away...) I am so thankful to have her as my best friend and my Maid of Honor.
Best Man
I (Dalton) met Aden during our shared time in the Marine Corps. Our initial introduction was a culture shock to the both of us, but we quickly learned that even the most polar of opposites are balanced upon the middle ground. From deep talks about religion and politics to hours spent fighting the good fight on video games, he has earned his spot as my brother. There were moments that I surely wouldn't have made it through without this man and I'm sure that there will be more that I need him for.
Bridesmaid
I met Jamie (supposedly) when our parents decided they wanted to go on a date, and they both couldn't find a babysitter... just kidding... We were both very young when our parents started dating and ultimately got married. I am so beyond grateful that they gave me the greatest gift of all in that marriage... a new best friend and sister. We may have had a rivalry in our childhood days, but as we got older, we grew inseparable. She is my therapist, my best friend, and most importantly, my sister. I couldn't imagine walking down the aisle without her.
Groomsman
My first close Friend in the Marine Corps, Palmer has shown a devotion to our friendship that people through history have only dreamed of. From endless nights on Battlefield to messing with the boots of the unit, we've stood side-by-side through it all. After the Marine Corps he has remained a recurrent source of wisdom when I can't find the answers myself. He pinned my return to the Lance Corporal Underground and now he's going to be by my side as I step into this new chapter in my life; and I am limitlessly honored.
Bridesmaid
Ashleigh is my beautiful Sister-in-law! She has truly become such a big blessing in my life. Ashleigh not only gave me the most amazing nephew ever, but she has also inspired me in so many ways. I cannot wait to have some coffee with the person who may be as addicted to it as I am haha.... But more importantly I am so excited to have her by my side!
Groomsman
Andrew is the next heir in the Young line. Though we may not be the same, we have the same desire to serve our community and I greatly respect his commitment. He may have started out as a Swiftie, but he's grown to be a respectable and capable young man. I'm elated to have him standing next to me on this, the most important day of my life.
Jr. Bridesmaid
Caroline is Dalton's beautiful little sister. She has such a sweet soul, no matter what her older brothers may say... Caroline is growing up to be such a determined and passionate young woman and I am so excited to be apart of that journey as her sister-in-law! I am so beyond blessed to have her standing next to me on such an important day for her brother and I.
Groomsman
Max is my youngest brother but that doesn't stop him from being one of the smartest. He's an avid athlete and has the brains to back the brawn, as he interns at a law office. He's a boy of few words but many thoughts and I relish the idea that we will stand side-by-side on this momentous day.
Ring Bearer
Huck...Huck-a-boy...Bubba... whatever we call him throughout the day... He is our child, our first born, our baby boy. He may be legally a dog, but anyone who has met him knows he throws hands like a man. Huck is such an important part of our lives. He was our first pet together... we may have adopted him the day Dalton moved to Florida (or slightly earlier, sorry mom). We both couldn't imagine our live' let alone our wedding day without him being a part of it.
Groomsman
What to say about Ethan... a man enthused with history with a history of his own. I met him at the shelter through my time as an animal control officer. A good friendship that started during his FTO period, we've shared plenty of laughs, plenty of stories and plenty of history lessons. A bit of a new face in my life, I'm honored to stand next to him on my wedding day.
Sign Bearer
Sam is my handsome nephew! He truly is my favorite little dude. I am so honored to be his Auntie Dess. It has been so fun seeing him grow up (although I wish he would slow down...). He knows how to make everyone laugh and is truly going to be the life of the party! Especially after I sneak him some s'mores...
Flower Boy
Dallas, the star of our lives. Our second born son with four feet (all left); he's a long haired Casanova who will steal your heart at first sight and keep you around with his loving cuddles. From a trash dog to a couch hippo, we are the luckiest dog parents who have been graced by his addition to our family.
Sign Bearer
Finlee Jo is my little cousins little one! I wish more than anything I could still be in Colorado to spoil her with all of the sugar and toys and then give her back to her mom HAHA! Finlee Jo is such a silly, sweet girl. I cannot wait to see her again and have her apart of our special day!
Mother of the Groom
I can't put into words how appreciative I am of my mother, and I'll never be able to capture, in an excerpt like this, how much she has done for me. She has been a shining light in my life throughout all of my life, and my safety net in tough times. While I was an angel as a younger child, I know that my teenage years were a bit troublesome; yet she exercised the utmost patience (when she could, lol) and taught me everything I know about emotional intelligence. After the Marine Corps she has been my main link for news regarding the family. I love her endlessly and I know she is going to be just as emotional as me on this day.
Mother of the Bride
My mom. She is the strongest, most loving person I know. She was a single mom raising us two kids for a little while until she met my dad. Mom worked hard to ensure we were taken care of even if that meant sacrificing doing the things she loved. I may have been a terrible child, but she never gave up on me. She made sure that I redirected my attitude (the one that will NEVER go away) to more positive things...lol... My Mom is my best friend. I am so so so beyond words grateful for her. I am so thankful for her love and support not only on my wedding day, but all throughout my life.
Father of the Groom
My father stepped up when someone else wouldn't (we won't talk about that, because it truly doesn't matter). He has taught me everything I know about being a man and ignited an interest in me about working with my hands. He knew how to push me to be my best, and while I was resistant at the time, I truly believe that I wouldn't have succeeded at what I have in life without that pushing. I love him dearly and am thankful that he will be joining me on this day.
Father of the Bride
This is my dad. May not be by blood, but that has never mattered. He has always loved me as my own. He has always been there for me since the day him and my mom went on that "date" with us two kids... My dad means the world to me. He goes to the ends of the earth and beyond to make sure we are taken care. I am so lucky to have him walking me down the aisle. I couldn't imagine this day or any day without my dad by my side.
