UPDATED 8/4/2021: While we are hoping to enjoy the company of all of our guests at our wedding, safety is a major priority and we also recognize that many people are not comfortable attending a wedding at this time. In light of recent events, we have made the decision to strongly recommend that guests receive a negative COVID-19 test result 72 hours before their arrival. We urge all guests to ensure that they are healthy prior to attending our wedding weekend. While the majority of the weekend is currently planned to be outdoors, the reception will be held inside. We have purchased masks for guests to wear indoors and will follow the current guidelines for Maine and our venue. We are working hard to ensure safety throughout the weekend, but we encourage guests to make the decision that is right for them. Please feel free to reach out to us at any time with any COVID-19 related concerns or any concerns about our wedding weekend.
Well, just Friday and Saturday technically, but yes! We have full access to all that Camp Mataponi has to offer on Friday and Saturday (yard games, sports equipment, kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, a water trampoline) and we would love it if you could come up early (after 3:00 on Friday afternoon) to enjoy it with us. Don't worry if you really can't make it on Friday, there will be time on Saturday until 3:00 to enjoy all of these activities!
Yes, we ask that if you are planning on staying at Camp Mataponi at any point throughout the weekend that you provide a $25 fee per person per night to cover lodging and food costs for your stay. This will allow you to stay and eat throughout the weekend at camp (dinner Friday night, breakfast and lunch on Saturday, breakfast on Sunday) in addition to the meal at the reception. This fee can be paid via cash or check (made out to Elaine O'Malley) when you send back your RSVP, or if you would prefer using Venmo, Alley's username is Allison-OMalley. Note: If you are planning on staying at camp and are not able to bring items such as towels and sheets with you, those are available at the camp for a fee. Please contact us directly before the wedding to set up rental of any linens.
There are a number of cabins available on site that you are welcome to stay in for Friday night and Saturday night. Please keep in mind that while Camp Mataponi is a nice summer camp, it is still a summer camp, so there is no A/C or heat in the cabins and many of them only have twin beds. The good news is that all cabins are equipped with a shower and a bathroom! If you are planning on staying at Camp Mataponi for any duration of time during our wedding weekend you MUST indicate it (number of nights, number of people in your party) on the RSVP card that comes with the formal invitation. You will not be able to stay at camp without a cabin reservation. Cabins will be assigned, just like the seating arrangements at the reception. This being said, we realize that camping is not for everyone and want our guests to pick the type of accommodation that they are most comfortable in. You can check out our 'Travel' tab at the top of the page for other options!
Other than clothes and toiletries for the weekend you might need: - Bathing suit - Towels (for showering/washing hands) - A water bottle (all of the water at Camp Mataponi is drinkable!) or disposable water bottles if you prefer. - Booze of your choice for Friday and Saturday For those of you who decide to stay in the cabins you will need: - Pillow - Sheets and blankets/sleeping bag Keep in mind that it will be colder at night and you will most likely need extra blankets or a sleeping bag to be comfortable in the cabins. If you are traveling and are not able to bring your own blankets, please let us know as blankets and sheets are available at camp for a fee!
Our wedding weekend will largely be a BYOB event. Please bring as little or as much booze as you would like to consume throughout the weekend! While we will be providing some beer and wine for the reception, the selection is limited (see list below), and if we run out guests will have to provide their own alcohol for the rest of the evening from their own supply in their cabins. If you are staying offsite please plan to have a designated driver, and if you are staying onsite, no guests will be allowed to drive once the reception is underway so please plan accordingly. We will be serving: Busch Light Bud Light Coors Light Corona Extra White Claw Hard Seltzer Red and White Wine Don't forget to bring water! All of the water at Camp Mataponi is drinkable, but if you prefer bottled water feel free to bring that as well.
