A classic country tavern with a great pool table. Its a burger and fry joint with a great cob salad. They also have a great cup of hot chocolate around the holidays.

Secluded outpost of the McMenamins chain in a barn like building with a great vibe, live music, shuffleboard and pool in the loft ❤️
Helvetia Farm Market
We love this market!!! They have the best selection of local produce, wines, and meats, as well as the best local pantry goods. Also, their bone broth is amazing! Grab a latte and graze the aisles, or hang out with the chickens in their backyard fire pit lounge. $$$
Jim's Market
This is the closest grocery store to the property. It is a small town market with decent options and pricing.
North Plains Market & Liquor
This is our "convenience store". There is no produce really, but basic groceries and alcohol can be purchased here.
Willamette Valley Soaring Club
Take a ride in a glider plane. -Find yourself in motorless, silent flight. Usually, a ride lasts about 20 to 25 minutes. Calling ahead at (503) 647-0913 is encouraged to find out details of the day's operation, but feel free to just drop in as well.
Mountaindale Sun Resort
The Sun Resort, is a nudist colony that is very close to our property. They allow non members access to their facility which includes a pool, sauna, hot tub, tennis and volleyball, along with miles of nature trails for $20 per day. Make sure to bring your ID for check-in. Clothing is not allowed though, so keep that in mind.
Pumpkin Ridge Zip Tour
Pumpkin Ridge Zip Tour is a fully-guided canopy zipline tour with seven ziplines and two suspension bridges. Their continuous canopy tour experience keeps you high above the earth in the branches of magnificent trees accompanied by two tour guides that reveal ecological and local knowledge.
Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks & Minerals
The Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals is a non-profit earth science museum in Hillsboro, Oregon. It Opened in 1997, and the museum’s collections date to the 1930s with the museum housed in a home built to display the rock and mineral collections of the museum founders.
Helvetia Vineyards & Winery
This sweet country winery is run out of this country home. We love the dirt roads and near by lavender farms❤️
Rogue Brew Pub & Eatery
This is a pretty good little dive bar in North Plains. They have good food, drinks and even live music!
The Pie Guy
The Pie Guy is on the way to the property. They have a variety of pies available in the mini fridge on their porch. Cash and Venmo are accepted.
Abbey Creek Winery: The Crick
Believe it or not, there is a Hip Hop themed wine bar in North Plains that serves as tasting room for a winery and serves tasty food.
Bamboo Garden
With over 300 varieties of hardy bamboo- both clumping, and running, rare and common are found in this 20 acre bamboo nursery/ garden. Take a tour of the grounds in a golf cart. Its beautiful and educational

Banks-Vernonia State Trail
The Banks–Vernonia State Trail is a paved rail trail and state park in northwest Oregon. It runs for 21 miles, primarily north–south, between the towns of Vernonia in Columbia County and Banks in Washington County on an abandoned railroad bed. Banks is about 25 miles west of Portland.
Horning's Hideout
Horning's Hideout is a private park that hosts concerts, u-catch trout fishing, three 18 holes of Disc Golf, camping and is an outdoor wedding venue! General entrance fee is $5 per person (3 years old+), and with that you can either play Disc Golf all day or it does pay for use of poles and bait for fishing. Fishing is $8 a pound, no releasing. Paddle boats and bait fishing, which includes lures, is open 9 AM to 5 PM on Fridays, Saturdays,Sundays and Mondays till the first of September. Please call 503-647-2920 to confirm they are open if there is any question.
