The One Where He Swiped Right

July 14th, 2018

Dylan and I met on a dating app called bumble in the summer of 2018. I don't think that either of us was expecting anything out of the ordinary on our first date, so needless to say we unprepared for the fun! We met at Houlihan's for drinks and appetizers. I was so nervous that I joked I would call him by the wrong name, so I purposely called him David to break the ice. I remember I asked him what he did for a living and he proceeded to impress me with how intelligent he really was. I sat there in amazement at how passionate he was about his career in Agricultural Breeding & Genetics, I didn't even realize I had slurped down my margarita! The conversation was so easy we sat there for hours talking about our lives, our goals, and hobbies. We eventually decided to move to a local bar downtown, neither of us was ready for this night to end! 6 hours later, and after he met one of my best friends Alex, we reluctantly ended the night after midnight on a Thursday. It was the best first date I had ever been on, and little did I know the last one I'd ever have. A few days later Dylan made things official and we haven't looked back! A few months after that we moved in together. It has been amazing getting to grow and learn about each other over the past year and I couldn't imagine sharing my life with anyone else!

The One Where He Proposed

July 21st, 2019

It was the night before our first anniversary and some of our close friends Ryan & Bri were hosting a house warming party for their beautiful new home. Dylan & I spent the entire afternoon with our friends, sharing stories and cooking out. It was a great day to just relax and enjoy some of the best things in life - friends, and fun. As the night continued, the party didn't stop, so we all went downtown to some of our favorite places. We bounced around and had some drinks, continuing the fun. Finally, the bars had to close and we went home to our apartment & puppy Ken. As we were getting ready for bed, Dylan comes out of the spare bedroom, hops on one knee, and proposes. I thought he was kidding, I even jokingly gave him 48 hours to take it back! But liquid courage was all he needed because Dylan had sneakily asked my dad months before for his permission. I was so incredibly happy and am still smiling at the thought of how it all happened. It was perfect!
