We're Getting Married!

It was the year 2010, and Harrah was hosting a local wrestling tournament. Blake was a wrestler for Choctaw, and Dallas was there to cheer for Harrah. As high school girls do, Dallas and her friends sat around looking at the “cute” boys. That’s when Blake caught her eye. In this moment in life, she did not expect to be his type at all, besides it was just girls being girls, right? Even though he had caught her eye, neither one pursued each other. However, a year or two later the two of them connected through Facebook and made the decision they were interested in each other. At this time, Dallas still had not realized who he was, just that she thought he looked like Taylor Lautner. Hot right? I mean come on; it was during the twilight era. It wasn’t until the first time they met up that Dallas finally recognized who Blake was. There was a picture of Blake at a wrestling tournament in HER middle school gym. While studying the picture she recognized the gym and the pink out shirts the Choctaw team was wearing. That’s when it clicked! What were the odds that she was standing next to the boy who had caught her eye previously. Dallas knew it was meant to be…however, time showed that the couple were in two different areas of life. As of 2013 the two went their separate ways to continue their own personal growth. Fate brought them back together towards the end of 2016, and they have been inseparable since then.

The couple traveled to Italy and Croatia in May of 2023 with Rose State College. The beginning of their trip did not go as planned. Italy had to be cut short for the group due to flight changes, a missing person, and adjustments to the ferry ride to Croatia. However, it all changed once the group arrived in Croatia. It was the most beautiful place to visit, lots of free time, and tons of gelato. While in Croatia the group went to the hotel restaurant every night for dinner. So, on Friday of that week, with only one more day of the trip left, everyone went for dinner as usual. The instructor decided she wanted a group photo of everyone after dinner. So, they all went down to the shoreline for a picture. The perfect place for the group photo was a pier that entered the Adriatic Sea with mountains in the background fading into a beautiful pink and orange sunset. The instructor said, “while we are waiting for everyone, let's get a picture of the two of you”, gesturing to Blake and Dallas. This was a common occurrence all week, so Dallas didn’t think anything of it. As they prepared for a photo, Blake got down on one knee to propose to the love of his life. Of course, Dallas said yes! But, ONLY after asking “Are you sure?”.
