This town is one of the most popular destinations to visit in the Lake District and is situated right on the beautiful lake for which it was named.

Manchester Airport (MAN)
Manchester is the closest major, international airport to our location in the Lake District. From here, we recommend renting a car or hiring a taxi to get you to Windermere in about 1.5hrs. You can also hop a train directly from MAN to Oxenholme (scroll down for train details).

London Heathrow Airport (LHR)
London Heathrow is a great hub if you plan on spending some additional time in the UK (and we highly recommend seeing London). From here, you can catch a quick flight, a train, or hire/rent a car to get you up to the Lake District for our wedding.

Edinburgh Airport (EDI)
While EDI is not the closest airport to us in the Lakes, for those who wish to explore Scotland, we are just about a three hour drive from the capital city. Glasgow is another option at a similar distance from Windermere.

If you'd rather not worry about driving yourself, we recommend booking a driver to pick you up from the airport and drop you back off at the end of your stay. This service is UK wide, so you are able to book a pickup/dropoff at any airport.

Arrive by Train
Book a stress-free and scenic train ride to Windermere from major hub cities like London, Manchester, and Glasgow to Windermere. Windemere Station itself can be reached via Oxenholme, Preston and a few other stations from the West coast mainline. We would suggest using www.thetrainline.com to plan your journey.
