Dale's sister Laura sends him a text that says, "I've got a girl that you need to meet". After Dale asks some more questions about "this girl" Laura mentions that her name is Millie Hughes and that she's amazing and loves God. He also found out that they were pretty good friends in high school, and currently they were leading a Bible study together for the senior high girls at Covenant Church's student ministry. A few months later Dale graduated from Penn State and was eager to finally meet this girl that Laura had shared so much about.

Dale and Millie served along side each other in Covenant Students ministry for almost an entire year together. Millie continued to lead the high school girls group with Dale's sister and Dale and his twin brother Brad led the 7th grade boys small group. Each Sunday they would see each other loving kids and serving God. Eventually in the Fall and early Spring they would begin to hang out outside of student ministry in larger group settings. Millie would eventually have more free time in the afternoons so that she could take part in the young adults ministry at Covenant Church that Dale and some others led on Tuesday nights. As time went on, Dale's affection for Millie, her character, her laugh, her smile, her love for children, and her devotion to God inspired him to finally take next steps and ask her on a date.

One Sunday night at Covenant after a night of student ministry, Dale awkwardly waited around for Millie to start to head to her car so that he could get some alone time with just her. He didn't know at the time that there were countless people who knew that he was going to ask her out and that through the grapevine Millie also knew that it might be coming that night. He pushed through a dry mouth full of animal crackers to finally ask Millie if he could take her out on a date. Because of their close friendship their first date felt far from new but it did begin the process of a year filled with laughter, getting to know each other's families, serving along side one another in multiple different capacities at Covenant Church, sharing in each other joys and losses, and being devoted to loving God and putting Him at the center of their relationship. Dale and Millie can recall a time not long after they started dating that the conversation began to change from their individual future to their future lives together. On April 15th, almost exactly a year after their first date, Dale proposed to Millie on the pier at Ocean Gate, with family all there to celebrate.

Dale and Millie are so excited to continue to love and serve God and share His goodness with so many people. Covenant Church has been the place where they met, served along side each other for two years, grew in knowledge of God, attended a 7-week premarital class together, and look to continue to serve and love the body of believers in Doylestown. They can't wait to be married and there's no better place that they thought to make their vows and to celebrate their new marriage than at the place where it all started!
