Dale and I are 8 years apart. When I was in elementary school, he was in high school. We often joke about our age difference, but it's one of the things that tells it all. As we were dating, I began to learn more and more about where life took us and how were we in sync all along. I remember being young, probably 10 or 12, and praying for my husband. I didn't know who he was, or why I was doing it. All I knew was that something was compelling me to do so, so I did. We were both working at Enchanted Rock. I walked into the office and was introduced as the new intern. Everyone was warm and welcoming, except Dale. He was so busy. I tease him about it to this day, but little did we know that it wouldn't last for long. A month into my internship they tasked him with training me at the front. It was amazing. We sparked in every conversation we had. We dated for a week and instantly fell in love. I love learning about what identifies an individual. As we dated we learned that the timing was immaculate. Dale was emerging from a sort of.. baptism. His life was flipped upside down. He was lost. I was praying for a reason. I didn't know what I was doing. I was walking with blinders and I was scared. We often ask "What are you teaching me, God?" but the lesson isn't for us. It's for a loved one in need. In our lowest moments we were being molded for each other. Dale swears I saved his life. I swear he saved mine. Here's to 2 souls joining into 1.
