On March Friday the 13th, 2020 Kara Gene Ross and Dakota Tyler Kelley were married in a private ceremony outside of Union Station in Washington DC. Please know that while you may not have been there in person, you were there in our hearts.

Dakota proposed to Kara on Christmas Eve 2019 while they were vacationing in Niagara Falls, Canada. He proposed during the Grand Illumination under the Winter Festival of Light’s fireworks display. And I said yes!

Dakota and Kara met at a bar during the summer semester of 2013 when both of us were enrolled at Virginia Commonwealth University for our final credit to graduate. We had spent that whole summer running around Richmond together and when I moved to Virginia Beach for a while, Dakota decided to follow me down, and we made it Facebook official!

We have spent the last 6 years together, living and loving every day. We bought and sold our first house! And raised our sweet puppies together, despite my terrible dander allergies!

Currently we live in Richmond, VA in a homey apartment in Scott’s Addition, where power lifting has become a favorite shared hobby for both of us. Now that we've gotten married we're looking forward to doing a lot more traveling and marching along to the beat of our own drum!
