We’re Getting Married

We met the way all love stories begin… through a mutual friend in college when I was 20 and he was just a sweet, scruffy 19-year-old. (Yes, I robbed the cradle — and I have no regrets.) Our first "romantic" date? The golden arches of love: McDonald’s in the SIUC student center. Nothing says soulmates like fries and fountain drinks. But somehow, in between bites of chicken nuggets and awkward laughter, something clicked — and we’ve literally been inseparable ever since. We studied side by side, pulled all-nighters, graduated together, and faced every high and low life threw at us. We’ve argued over silly things (like this one time he poured his kool aid into my Hawaiian punch drink) and supported each other through the hard ones (like figuring out adulting). Through it all, we grew — not just as individuals, but together. And now, here we are — about to become husband and wife. We’re not just combining last names and laundry baskets; we’re building a home, a future, and eventually, a family of our own. We are so grateful that one random college meetup turned into the love of my life. Here’s to the McDonald’s date that changed everything — and to all the beautiful, exciting, and wonderful chapters still to come.
