"It was a cold and wet Oregon winter. Cozied up on the couch, Joel was casually scrolling on hinge and came across Daisy's profile. She looked like a cutie patootie. Daisy had a prompt that said, "Together we can watch corny Christmas movies". Joel decided to pounce like a hunting lion. He answered the prompt, "What's your favorite Christmas movie?" Daisy's answer was, "The Christmas Prince". Joel had never seen it, but the momentum towards asking Daisy on a date had begun. For their first date, Joel suggested they meet at Bar Bar in Portland. The day of the first date, both sides admit they almost canceled due to the weather and it being a Sunday night. Joel arrived first at Bar Bar and was waiting for Daisy, when she walked in. As Joel saw her walking up he thought "Oh thank goodness she is hot". All jokes aside, they ended up having a lot of fun. At one point, they had a bonding moment that made them realize their values were in a very similar place. After a much longer than expected first date, they said goodbye. Joel was already coming up with a plan for a second date. It has now been over two years since then. Together they have traveled around the country and internationally. Their lives have fully merged. Today, they could not imagine life without the other. From the beginning, they acknowledged only with God could this work and that is still true. God has done amazing things in our journey together and we know he is not done yet. We are both soooo excited neither of us canceled on that first date.

Joel collaborated with Daisy's sisters, Evelyn and Mema, along with her cousin Tania. Together they came up with a plan to bring Daisy back to her hometown of Chelan, WA. Daisy thought they were getting ready to go wine tasting. While she was getting ready, her sister and cousins went and prepared a "Will You Merry Me" setup down at a park overlooking the lake. As Daisy thought they were headed to the winery, instead her sister pulled up to the park, where the most handsome man she has ever seen was standing by himself. Yes, that was Joel. Daisy was shocked and did not see it coming. As she approached Joel, she noticed her family and Joel's family all standing off to the side. It was a beautiful moment with tears in everyones eyes. Of course, Daisy said "YES!"
