Are there any special travel requirements?

Answer

The European Union is introducing a new travel authorization system called ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) for visa-exempt travelers. Current projections suggest that the ETIAS system will be fully operational by late 2026. You likely will not need ETIAS for our June 2026 wedding. Still, check the official EU ETIAS website in late 2025 or early 2026 for updates. If the launch date is earlier, you may need to apply online. We’ll keep you updated if anything changes so you can plan with confidence!

Do I need a rental car?

Answer

When in Crete, you are advised to rent a car as public transportation is not liable. Try booking engines like rentalcars.com. We recommend sharing a vehicle with your group.

Can I take the Ferry?

Answer

We do encourage the use of ferries for your own island hopping experience before/after wedding festivities. We do not recommend it as the primary transportation from/to the mainland (Athens/Heraklion) since it is a much longer trip compared to flying (approximately 9-12hrs).

How will I get to wedding events?

Answer

We will be providing shuttle service between the hotel and the venues. More info to come on scheduling.

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Answer

To keep our celebration small and meaningful, we're inviting only the closest of our friends and family. The name of every guest invited to attend is clearly listed on your invitation and no additional guests can be accommodated. Thank you so much for understanding!
