How we met

If you were to ask Michael, I messaged him on Facebook and the rest was history. However, the truth behind this story is that his mom introduced us. HAHA sorry babe. My co-worker, Susana (Michael’s mom), and I wanted to start working out. We set up a gym date and invited her son to give us a training session. I remember being so nervous I walked into her office about twelve times just to tell her to cancel. She mentioned to me how he was also nervous and was asking a bunch of questions on how he should approach me. I immediately felt better. When we finally made it to the gym and I was introduced to this mysterious son of hers we didn’t say more than five words to each other. But I could feel him squinting across the gym looking in my direction. And yes, squinting because he was not wearing his glasses and is basically blind. After that we went for a quick lunch and never spoke again. Until I messaged him on Facebook, argued about Miami’s best croquetas, and went on our first date. The rest was history.

How he proposed

One of our first trips was to New York City. The magic in this city made us fall even more in love. February 2019 comes along and Michael planned a surprise weekend trip to NYC for valentine’s day. Once there we did all of our favorite things. The day he proposed, February 16, 2019, he took me shopping for an outfit because he said he had a special dinner planned. After getting ready, he ordered us an Uber and mentioned that the restaurant was very exclusive and there might not be a lot of people. We reach our destination and it’s a corporate office. Confused, we enter the building and head to the penthouse floor. After checking in, the person at the front walked us through the office space and lead us to the back door. Michael opens the door and I see a roof top. We enter the roof top and I see a beautiful marry me sign with candles in the shape of a heart and a beautiful skyline. I start to cry and he brings me to the middle of the candle lit heart and asks me to marry him. It was the most beautiful moment a girl could ask for. He hired photographers who took pictures of us and caught me ugly crying. We slow danced and enjoyed the beautifully planned moment. We then headed to dinner where we FaceTimed our families and friends.
