Things To Do

Indiana Dunes National Park

Indiana Dunes National Park

Porter, IN 46304

The Indiana Dunes are always a blast! There are lots of things to do here such as relaxing on the beach, going for a swim, or going on a hike. Mason and I typically go to the state park portion of the dunes, but this section is closer to the venue/hotels. If you are into hiking, I recommend the Cowles Bog Trail (linked below). This is the trial my students and I hike every school year! It's about a 25 minute drive depending on where you stay.

Indiana Dunes National Park Mount Baldy

Indiana Dunes National Park Mount Baldy

187 Rice Street, Michigan City, IN 46360

This is Mason's favorite sand dune to hike! I have yet to attempt it myself, but I would love to some day. It is a steep hike to get down to the beach so be careful!

Michigan City Lighthouse

Michigan City Lighthouse

Michigan City, IN 46360

The lighthouse is always a cool place to visit. You can also enjoy a nice walk on the beach when you see it! If you love history, there is also the Old Lighthouse Museum not too far away.

Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets

Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets

601 Wabash Street, Michigan City, IN 46360

If you love shopping like me, then the outlet mall is the place for you! Click on the link below to see what stores the Lighthouse Outlet mall has to offer.

Blue Chip Casino Hotel Spa

Blue Chip Casino Hotel Spa

777 Blue Chip Drive, Michigan City, IN 46360

Feeling lucky? Try your luck at the Blue Chip Casino! Mason and I have tried but were unsuccessful haha. Wishing you the best of luck!

Trailyard Outpost

Trailyard Outpost

2651 Clifford Road, Valparaiso, IN 46385

This place is a little further from the venue. It is actually in our hometown Valparaiso! Mountain biking is one of Mason's adventurous hobbies. Trailyard is where he takes his bike to ride. The trails are really nice, and the Trailyard Outpost has bike rentals if you want to give mountain biking a try! If mountain biking isn't your thing, some of their trails allow for hiking as well.
