Las Américas International Airport (SDQ)

The Dominican Republic has multiple international airports located throughout the country. That said, the closest airport to Santo Domingo is Las Américas International Airport (SDQ), which is located approximately 35 minutes outside of the city. You do, however, have other airport options if you choose to explore other parts of the country before or after the wedding: - Santiago (STI) ~2 hours from Santo Domingo - Punta Cana (PUJ) ~ 2.5 hours from Santo Domingo ⭐ Travel Requirements ⭐ All travelers entering and departing the Dominican Republic are required to complete the free online E-Ticket immigration form prior to travel. Please complete your form before arriving at the airport and save a copy of your QR code for both arrival and departure. ⭐ From the Airport to the City ⭐ Getting from Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) to the Embassy Suites or your Airbnb in Santo Domingo is relatively easy. We recommend taking an Official Airport Taxi from the authorized taxi stand located to the left after exiting the airport sliding doors. The taxis are color-coded and operate using fixed, zone-based pricing. Expect to pay approximately $40 USD to the Embassy Suites and surrounding areas. Please note: Always confirm the price in cash (USD) with the driver before accepting the ride. We cannot guarantee that credit cards will be accepted. Additionally, you will likely be approached by individuals offering private taxi services as you exit the baggage claim area. While many are legitimate drivers, we recommend using the official airport taxi stand for a smoother, safer, and more reliable experience. If you would like to arrange a preferred private airport transfer or rent a car during your stay, please contact Emmanuel for recommendations. ⭐ Transportation Within the City ⭐ Uber works very well in Santo Domingo and is less expensive compared to U.S. pricing. The service is widely available throughout the city and is generally affordable, convenient, and reliable.
