You might already know Daibeliz and Elle’s love story, as Daibeliz eagerly shares tales of their adventures with anyone who will listen. For anyone who doesn't know the details, here’s the gist of it: On Friday, October 13, 2017, fate (and algorithms—thanks, Tinder!) brought Daibeliz and Elle together. Before meeting face-to-face, Daibeliz and Elle made plans to go to Orlando’s annual Pride festival. While they definitely felt a digital connection, they wanted to make sure that they would be able to tolerate spending the whole day together so they met at Infinite Ale Works, a craft brewery, the night before. They talked about anything and everything until 2am then had an amazing time at Pride the next day. At first, neither of them wanted a relationship, but over time, it became clear that they were meant to be. After committing to each other, they spent weekends and school breaks traveling between Charleston, where Daibeliz had relocated to for her Physician Assistant program, and Ocala, where Elle was teaching middle school. After Daibeliz graduated, the mountains of Colorado called to their adventurous, nature-loving spirits, and they moved across the country to Littleton, transitioning from long-distance, part-time girlfriends to same-place, full-time girlfriends. A short time later, Daibeliz took a job in Nebraska, and after another period of long-distance, Elle moved to North Platte and they were reunited once again. Over Halloween weekend in 2022, Daibeliz proposed to Elle with an extravagant Harry Potter Triwizard Cup-themed scavenger hunt—three magical clues led them to some of the best spots in Denver and ended on a candlelit rooftop with an incredible view of the city skyline. The following summer, Elle took Daibeliz on a romantic weekend getaway and proposed to her atop a majestic mountain overlooking the beautiful Lake Isabelle in Colorado. When it came to wedding planning, a spooky Friday the 13th felt fitting. However, Daibeliz and Elle didn’t want to wait until 2028 for the next one so they eloped on a Sunday, October 13th instead. They chose a picturesque mountain in Evergreen as the backdrop for their special day. They celebrated their shared nerdy interests by incorporating a few fun props: the Zelda Master Sword, Harry Potter cloaks and wands, and Arya’s dagger from Game of Thrones—which Daibeliz later used to saber their celebratory champagne while wearing a handmade fur cloak. In a self-solemnizing ceremony, witnessed only by their photographer, they read their heartfelt vows and signed their marriage license, making their union official. Their unique elopement was much like their relationship - full of love, adventure, and a little magic. As many elopers do, Daibeliz and Elle think, “Maybe we’ll throw a party someday!” For now, they're happy building their life together, one adventure at a time.
