Dahlia - In late 2016, my sister Lisa and I decided to take a road trip down to Boston to visit our good friend Seb. To celebrate our arrival, he took us out to dinner. It was Friday night and the place was packed so we drank margaritas while waiting for our table. We were laughing, catching up and taking lots of selfies. Most unpredictably, we got photobombed by this cute guy named Dan! We took to each other right away. I remember how much he made me laugh and that he was a perfect gentleman the entire time. When I went to bed that night, I envisioned our entire life together. But he lives in Boston and I’m in Montreal? I didn’t care, I was smitten. Dan - I remember telling Chris, “Lolita, really?!” but it was the best decision I made despite my apprehension. Once we were in the bar, I was still a little skeptical, but then I saw her. Literally, across the room, I saw this beautiful woman smiling and laughing with her friends. I knew from the second I saw her, I had to talk to her but I couldn’t find an entry point. Thankfully, snapchat was popular at that time. I saw them prepping for a selfie, and took my shot. Once we all got to talking, I still couldn’t take my eyes off her. We ended up at Cleary’s and if you know that bar, no further explanation is needed. The weekend ended and I knew she had to go back to Canada but I was determined to stay in touch. And that we did! Shout out to Lisa, Seb and Chris – our special guests of honor! Without you, Dan and I may not have ever met.
