The afternoon started with a family photoshoot at Percy Warner Park in Nashville. All Lauren knew was the photos were a housewarming gift from my roommate. We took countless pictures until the sun was beginning to go down because I kept getting nervous to actually ask the question. We left to head to downtown Nashville to Printer's Alley where I finally built the nerves up to ask her. I got the ring from my photographers and ask them to position us perfectly for the moment. We were standing alone in the alley when I asked for her hands and proceeded to ramble on about something neither one of us remember. I finally got down on one knee to propose. We heard cheers when we came back to reality-- Our photographers were holding back a crowd that desperately wanted to cross through the alley. The moment was so perfect.
I had planned a “date night” for us to go out to dinner downtown, but little did Jess know there were no dinner reservations. We drove downtown when Lyndsay sent a fake text that our reservation was pushed back 30 minutes. I asked Jess if she wanted to walk across the pedestrian bridge all the way to the other side because we had never done it before. She absolutely did not want to because she was in a jumpsuit and it was hot, but eventually we made it to the other side where there were flower petals out. I gave her the moment she deserved after she gave me mine.
