What should I wear? Are there colors to avoid?
Answer
Our dress code is semi-formal. Below is a link to more information: https://www.theknot.com/content/what-to-wear-semi-formal Our ceremony will be outdoors, on a semi-shaded cobblestone courtyard in August. The ceremony will be brief. Expect temperatures ranging from 70-80 degrees. The reception is indoors with AC. Bridesmaids will be wearing various shades of green. If you’d like to coordinate with the color scheme of the wedding, see the “Gallery” tab of this website for our colors. The only color that we ask you to avoid is a white dress!

What shoes are appropriate?
Answer
All shoe options are appropriate! The cobblestone courtyard is the only outdoor area accessed during the event, so no need to worry about heels sinking into grass.

How do I get to and from the wedding venue?
Answer
Driving or ride share is the easiest transportation method for our venue. The address: 5736 NE 33rd Ave, Portland, OR 97211 The venue has ample free parking within close proximity to the event space. Street parking is also available.

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?
Answer
We ask that guests arrive between 4:30-4:45 to make sure everyone is seated and ready for the ceremony at 5pm. The ceremony will be brief, and we want to make sure no one will miss it!

How early can I arrive to the venue?
Answer
Unless you have received specific instructions to arrive earlier for photos, please try to arrive no earlier than 4:30pm, in order to give vendors space to set up and get ready for the big event!

Can I bring a plus-one?
Answer
Unfortunately, we're on a budget and have limited space, so we simply can’t afford for all of our lovely guests to bring a guest of their own. Plus ones are therefore by invitation only and we ask other guests to please not bring a plus one. Thank you so much for understanding!

Are children invited?
Answer
In order to accommodate individual families’ needs, some children have been invited- any invited child will be mentioned by name on your invitation. Please note that we cannot offer any childcare or children’s entertainment during the event. If you have a child who has been invited but you would like to arrange childcare instead of bringing them, please feel free to do so!

Where is the reception?
Answer
Both the ceremony and reception will take place at the same venue, McMenamin’s Kennedy School Hotel.

What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?
Answer
Dinner will be served buffet-style, with gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. Please reach out to us asap if you have a dietary restriction or allergy that falls outside of these restrictions.

Will there be an open bar?
Answer
We are providing an open bar with beer, wine, and a few mixed drinks options. Because of our budget, we have set a “consumption cap” with the venue, where if a predetermined $$$ cap is reached, the bar will switch to being a cash bar.

Can I take pics with my phone?

Please refrain from taking picture with your phone during the ceremony. Feel free to document the rest of the day however you wish!
